We received an amazing feature requests form an amazing users which using our custom bbpress plugin, in which he said from site speed test page, he found the bbpress pages load slowly, and he found many time wasted when waiting avatar loading, he hope remove them from bbPress, today we have realized his request in new version, the changes in the custom bbpress plugin 1.3.0:
Option to Remove Avatar in bbPress Forums & Topics & Replies to Speed up bbPress Forum
In general, when we want to improve bbpress forum performance, we will upgrade to at least php 7.0, enable opcode caching, install some page cache plugin, optimize mysql database, from LAMP side, that will improve bbpress speed a lot, but in front end, there still have a problem: gravatars will slow the page load speed, now, a solution is use our custom bbpress plugin to disable gravatar in your bbpress forum to speed up bbPress forum lists, bbPress topics, bbPress replies, our codes is not just use css “display:none” to “hide” avatar — this kind of code may not work on a few customized bbPress themes, our codes hooked bbPress core code to stop load avatar in core code level, so it will works well with most of bbPress themes. The “Disable bbPress Avatar” option box looks like this:

Just one click, you can disable avatar in bbPress forum topic lists, bbPress single topic page, bbPress replies page, easy? Yes 🙂
